Linux Support

If you host a server with us, it comes with CentOS support at no extra charge. If we manage your server, it comes with CentOS support at no extra charge. CentOS is just a rebranded version of RedHat Enterprise Linux.

How can we offer to do this legally?

We can offer support because RedHat is Open Source. It's Linux. All flavors of Linux are subject to the GNU Public License. That license states that once a bit of software is licensed under the GNU GPL, then it is free to use and modify, so long as the owner's copyright is maintained.

RedHat doesn't actually sell its software; they sell support for their software. We do exactly the same thing.

CentOS downloads the RedHat Enterprise Linux source code, removes the RedHat copyrighted images and trademarks, and releases an unencumbered, enterprise-quality linux distribution to the world. We support it in-house and provide it as a service to you while giving great value-add options in doing so. We also do it a little cheaper than RedHat does.
